Red Sails in the Sunset
Banana Boat Song
Slow Boat to China - Jimmy Buffett
Seriously, or is it seriesly...anyway my vote is Sloop John B. It has always been a favorite of mine.
Not my favorite, but “Vahevala” by Loggins and Messina is a great song that needs to be on the thread.

The Beach Boys’ Sail On Sailor
On a different note...The Tall Ships Suite...beautiful music.
Sail Away - Enya
“Blue Moon of Kentucky” - Don’t know the original artist
(j/k)
What do you do with a drunken sailor?
The Immigrant Song, Led Zeppelin
Sinbad the Sailor, a mighty sailor was he.......
Old Cartoon..
In honor of our gay president
Columbus had a cabin boy, he loved him like a brother....
My vote is for Southern Cross.
BUT...I like this song too:
Louie Louie, oh no, me gotta go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby.
Louie Louie, oh baby, me gotta go.
A fine little girl, she waits for me.
Me catch the ship across the sea.
Me sailed the ship all alone.
Me never think I’ll make it home.
Louie Louie, oh no, me gotta go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby.
Louie Louie, oh baby, me gotta go.
Three nights and days I sailed the sea.
Me think of girl constantly.
On the ship, I dream she there.
I smell the rose in her hair.
Louie Louie, oh no, me gotta go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby.
Louie Louie, oh baby, me gotta go.
OK, let’s give it to ‘em right now
(guitar solo)
Me see . . .
Me see Jamaica, the moon above.
It won’t be long me see me love.
Me take her in my arms and then
I tell her I’ll never leave again.
Louie Louie, oh no, me gotta go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby.
Louie Louie, oh baby, me gotta go
I said we gotta go now
Let’s step on out of here
Let’s go!
Come sail away - Styx
Another vote for “What do you do with a drunken sailor”
Brings back memories of many nights in the pub as a student singing along.
Viking Kitties
What the band was playing on the deck of the Titanic!
‘What Do You DO With a Drunken Sailor’ performed by the Craig Wisley Band. They’re awesome. Traditional, mostly Celtic music, original melodies with a rock tempo. Sort of like the Drop Kick Murphy’s but without the underlying hint of vilence anger and the punk attitude.
Frigging in the Rigging - Sex Pistols (tells it like it really was in the seafaring days)
Growin’ Up - Bruce Springsteen ( had a juke box graduate for a first mate, she couldn’t sail but she sure could sing)
There should not be any argument on this one.
Southern Cross by Crosby Stills and Nash
Actually, Wooden Ships is also a good choice.
How could there be a debate at your house on this? What, someone in your family is suggesting row, row your boat?
