Word For The Monday, 5/14/12
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
ensorcellment; noun [verb is ensorcell]
>to bewitch: The beauty of the moon ensorcelled them.
Etymology: 153545; < Middle French ensorceler to bewitch, dissimilated variant of ensorcerer. See en-1 , sorcerer
I believe that a “cotillion” is the approximate amount of the annual deficit in a second Obama term.
my BABY went to prom.
Gayer than a Barack Obama trip to Fire Island.
excellent, LOL!!!
my girls did not have home ec and thus have NO IDEA how to set a table! i am having to teach this now at ages 17 and 23. Granted, it’s my fault for not having them doing it at a younger age at home, but home ec taught me how to set a table!
The ensorcellment of the left for Marxist Blacks is in direct opposite proportion to their Unmitigated Loathing of Conservative Blacks.
LMAO!
"Intimacy is not in your Pants"
Well, Robin Roberts also did the interview on one of the last episodes of Hannah Montana, where Hannah CAME OUT as Miley Stewart. So, how seriously can we take Robin Roberts anyway?
p.s. at the time, I had two preteens, it is allowed that I know this.
sad but true A+++
Make the a-ok sign with both your left hand and your right. The left hand makes a lower case b, which means the bread plate is to the left. The right hand makes a lower case d, which tells you the drink is on the right. Also helpful when in a banquet setting, with 12 people jammed around a table meant for 10, and you don’t know which glass is yours.
That is hilarious.
Back in the olden days (1960s) the expression was "the prom." When (and why) did kids stop going to the prom and start going to prom?
How does she know what I call it? Well, since you asked, I have a tattoo down there that says "Wendy."
This book is crying out for second sentences like:
"Intimacy is not in your Pants" but your drycleaner would appreciate it if you took them off first ;)
Really me too, except in full it says "Welcome to New York have a nice day"
LOL! I was going to add that to my post, but I thought it would be more fun to see if anyone knew the joke. Congrats!
i MAY have missed that particular episode of Hannah Montana but i am well versed in many NICK and Disney preteen shows. except i am drawing a blank on the one i liked with the blonde, who is now married to a hockey player and pregnant with his child, and her best friends Miranda and Gordo. she had the annoying little brother.
I thought you were coming out of the closet here. ;-)
We learned square dancing in 9th grade gym. That’s about it for instilling social graces.
