Murphy’s, brewed in Cork, has always been better than Guinness. Guinness brewed in Dublin has always been better than Guinness brewed in London.
Do they still make guinness in ireland? I thought they quit. I also thought they quit making murphy’s keg beer and only make canned beer now. I did not care for murphy’s in the can.
You can taste that much difference between the two breweries from the same manufacturer?
A friend of mine mentioned that to an executive from Guinness who replied "Laddie, don't be drinking the Guinness in England. We piss in it."
Guiness brewed in Ireland is not pasteurized.
Dunno what’s going on here in the US, but anything is possible. Perhaps inflation in one of the key ingredients has led to a substitution.
I can't tell you why there is a difference, but draft Guinness in Ireland is very different from, and superior to, what we get in this country, be it draft, can or bottle.
If you want to try a truly disgusting Guinness, find a bottle of Guinness brewed under license in Nigeria.
