I really don't like the "criminal mind" terminology being used to describe an 8 year old. I know your point and agree strongly that environment, especially family environment has a big impact on individuals and influences them.

A lot of people grow up in tough situations. Most aren't criminals (unless they touch hard drugs).

well...being created...means the process has begun, but can be stopped or modified. That is why I spoke to the lady. Yes, it is really the degree or lack of resentment for the abuser that will dertermine the mind of the abused ulitmatley.
