Affirmed both the Stars and Stripes and one true God.
Saw it yesterday with the family and friends. Thought it was great. Lots of action, lots of laughs.
Glad. My teen son and his friends went to see it last night.
Here’s the pertinent line from the article and the movie:
Theres only one God, maam, Captain America responds, and Im pretty sure he doesnt dress like that.
Yea, Caps line was good.
Awesome, I can’t wait to see it. I’ve been told it’s hilarious.
The wife and I went to see this last night. I hate most movies, because they are just so stupid- nobody acts like real people. There was some of that in this one, but little enough that I was able to put it aside and enjoy the movie.
I highly recommend this one!
And imho, the Hulk has the best line in the movie- without saying a word!
I saw it last night. It was showing in four of the 16 theaters in the complex. All four were sold out. Best movie of the 2012 so far.
I loved most the part where The Hulk slams the bad guy L against the floor 3 or 4 times like a rag doll! What a way to treat a demi-god...

'The Avenger's' affirm's, 'There is only 1 God'
The Avenger's i's one of the few movie's that actually exceed's it's hype (did the marketer's purposefully hide how good thi's film i's to build word of mouth later?)
I have never seen lines at our brand new local multiplex since it opened here in Wasilla, Alaska until yesterday for the matinee of Avengers.
I decided to buy the first ticket for the 3D matinee instead as the 2D looked sold out, my son and I had the best seats though we had to wait an hour.
It was an unusually good movie, the Hulk did indeed steal the show, Black Widow was a little on the plump side but still hot hot hot.
And the special effects were awesome, its a Josh Whedon movie, same as Serenity.
But I will nitpick one idea, having an aircraft carrier floating in the sky was stupid stupid stupid, too vulnerable and everything should have been anchored to the deck, looked cruelly cool though but still a stupid idea.
Iron Man should have brought a reserve of his battle suits and Captain America needs Dragon Skin or some better body armor, he isn’t bulletproof.
Thor seemed unusually weaker or more human.
And Marvel should have had a prequel movie of Hulk, he stole the show but he isn’t like what we have seen in years past.
In summary its a grand flic worthy of admission and a patriotic one, stay until the credits pass for a teaser.
Damn.
If you can find it, watch the cartoon Ultimate Avengers. It came out a few years ago. It has a great Hulk vs. Everyone fight.
And it has Hank Pym and Wasp.
In the end there can only be one!
hoc and I went to see the Avengers tonight - I think every showing in two theaters in New Braunfels were sold out. It was great. There were some hokey lines and the space warriors were not well designed, but the movie as a whole was 5 stars.
I spent my allowance on comic books as a kid and then discovered science fiction. The movies rarely do either well, but this time they did.
I can’t help but wonder whether Hollywood understands how subversive movies like this are. When one man stands to tell the bad guy he won’t bow to a man and that there will always be evil men, when Captain America talks about self-sacrifice for the cause and for the team, and when the Captain talks about “one God,” the themes of too much entertainment are shown to be ugly, selfish and shallow.
(I’m thinking that an example of the opposite would be “The Iron Lady” that tells Maggie Thatcher’s life story as though she lived an entire life through moments of dementia.)
