Junior Seau Dead Cops Suspect Suicide

11:27 AM PDT -- We're told a 911 call came in around 10:00 AM. No word on who made the call.

11:26 AM PDT -- The North County Times is reporting Seau's body was discovered by his housekeeper.

11:23 AM PDT -- The coroner just arrived on scene.

NFL legend Junior Seau was found dead in his home in Oceanside, CA ... and a law enforcement source at the scene tells us cops believe he shot himself. Seau was 43-years-old ... and leaves behind 3 kids and an ex-wife.

Cops are currently at Seau's home -- located in San Diego County -- and were seen talking with a man who was inside the house and appeared distraught. We're told Seau sent text messages to his ex-wife and 3 kids yesterday saying, "Love you." We're told they all responded and didn't suspect anything was wrong. We're told he last saw his kids 3 weeks ago. Sources close to Seau tell us family members didn't notice any signs of depression in recent weeks.

It was quite a shock to check FR and see this as the newest story.

As a Chargers fan, I always enjoyed watching Seau play. He was a great one.

Really, really sad! What a waste.

Prayers for his family, his youngest son is only eleven or twelve.

Very sad. He will have to watch his inevitable Hall of Fame Induction from Heaven.

Many are already speculating about concussions leading to this. Still, my guess if a spirit had appeared to Seau when he was graduating USC and said “if you play in the NFL, you will become one of the greatest linebackers the game has ever known but you will die at 43”, Seau would have still played.

My most vivid memory of Junior Seau is from the 1990 Rose Bowl game, when he recovered the ball after USC blocked a Michigan punt and returned it to the Michigan 11 to set up a Trojan touchdown. The Trojans won 17-10.

Fight on forever, Junior!

I wonder if steroid use was a contributing factor.

I’m watching the local news here in San Diego. JR’s mother is on the scene and they had to provide a chair for her as she wailed. What a selfish and hurtful thing to do to your elderly parents.

<P<Whatever peace he was looking for I hope he found it.
