CLOVER, S.C.
According to police, a woman was arrested for leaving her baby in a car for close to an hour and a-half.
Our news partners, The Gaston Gazette, told us Chelsea Ball, from Clover, S.C., left her baby in the car while she went into a pool hall early Saturday morning.
Police said the woman left the baby outside of West End Billards in Gastonia at 3:30 a.m.

No, it is called using common sense.
Just because you weren't aware of it doesn't mean the crime wasn't there.
When a baby or small child or animal left defenseless and in a dangerous situtation, people need to act, not step back and 'mind their own business'
You and your posting buddies would be the first to condemn the individuals who did nothing if harm came to the baby 'because it was none of their business'
Clearly it was a typo, feel clever now?
Yes, he is ready to handle any problem that might come up.
I know 4 year olds who have jobs.
No, it was *not* there.
It was only after the city slicker commuters started moving here that we had any ‘crime’.
We really only have negligible crime now.
Pardon me for living in a heavily armed, yard dog infested Hillbilly Paradise where only complete idiots dare to pull any crap.
Don’t presume to know what my area is like.
So live your life trying to anticipate every little thing that could *possibly* happen every second of every day.
Life will always blind side you one way or another.
No one can ever prepare for all the what-ifs of living.
[unless they’re God or have OCD]
At 4 I already had my first pony and could shoot a .22.
Couldn’t make breakfast, though.
Had to get up and take care of the pony first thing evey morning.
Mom made breakfast.
:)
Nobody has *ever* advocated standing back and doing nothing.
They simply don’t stick their hands into other people’s vehicles whenever they feel like it.
That is why we have cops who are not open to lawsuits if something goes awry.
I’m sure if the car was on fire or the child/pet were in such dire straits that waiting 5 minutes for the authorities to get there, they would intervene.
Hyperbole much?
No.
Just simply amused that in your hysterical state, you actually typed it.
:)
Farm kid?
We all had jobs as soon as we could walk, even though they were simple ones such as feeding chickens and the like.
From kindergarten to the day I left home at 18, I couldn’t do anything after school until my chores were done.
I always wondered what urban kids did with themselves.
Who is Zimmeron?
When a baby or a small child is seen to be in danger, it is time to act, NOT when the child is sleeping peacefully with a sentinel guarding him.
Neither I nor my “posting buddies” (Hi guys, whoever you are) would stand idly by and watch while a child comes to harm. What kind of a mind do you have to even think of such a thing?
And how dare you accuse any FReeper of such perfidy, let alone a whole group of decent, armed Conservative ones.
You have a cowardly and petty mind, and with all due respect, will you please stop spewing its filth at me.
“Who is Zimmeron?’
I think he’s the one who left the car in the auto.
Ah, so...
A child left unattended is not safe and if an individual came across him, to leave him would be almost as irresponsible as the parents who put him in that postion in the first place.
I accuse you and the rest of those defending leaving a 4yr old in a car as irresponsible and resckless.
And if something did happen to the child you would be charged as such and your defense, 'well it was only for a few minutes' would fall on deaf years.
Interesting that the child would be left in a state where someone could grab him, even though 'left for only 5 minutes'
I expect a PARENT to be responsible enough not to leave his child in a dangerous situation.
