You don’t understand the nature of a shootout. The number of missed shots here is not out of the ordinary.

If memory serves me (admittedly it might not) an article in the not too distant past said that the national average 'hit rate' for police is 17% and in this instance the rate was almost exactly 17%.

Also another article posted in just the last few days about survivability of gunshot wounds showed a very high rate of gunshot wounds are not lethal. It surprised me just how few gunshot victims die and I think it would surprise most people. Probably mostly due to excellent and readily available trauma care but I don't recall if it addressed that. I sure don't want to find out though.
