You could always watch the Kevin Smith movies you bought yourself for Christmas. Or any of the other fine suggestions I routinely make. ;-)

Thank you! That doesn’t surprise me-my cub took out one of those govt. loans (against my and her hubby’s advice) to get her masters, and she bought into all the “free” laptops, kindles, books, trips, etc with glee. She has just figured out that she will graduate in June with over 40,000 in student loan debt and no job, and all I could say was we told you so...

that’s true. i personally don’t KNOW anyone in real life who will stay home or vote third party, but that presence is vocal on FR and that magnifies them, i guess.

I don’t know anyone who will “sit it out” either, but I certainly saw a lot of posters slamming those who will not sit out or vote third party with some very nasty epithets.

As one who has been told by the lunatic fringe to “go back to Mexico” -a reference to my ethnicity-and called “Suzy social worker”-not going to apologize for my education, either-I just won’t comment on those threads and get into flame wars.

I was with her for awhile....no slurred speech, moving ok, sat up and answered the 3 questions to prove she is alert, by the time the cop came I was satisfied that she was just drunk. She refused to answer questions about how she got there, where her coat and purse were. I told him I was off duty and going home, if he didn’t need me I was leaving. He probably got her to give him a name and number for someone to come get her. I told him there was still a crew at the station. I never heard a call after that.

Not once has she said “I’m not even supposed to be here today!” or “I assure you we’re open.”

Not if Silent Bob Casey has any say in the matter.

I’m hoping many of those standing on the sidelines claiming to be more conservative than the rest of us will finally realize the next President probably means replacing a SC seat - several of the left wing bats on the S.C. are close to 80 and if bammy pulls another Kagan and puts in a 51 year old then we will be stuck with that choice for 30-35 years. Maybe they will grow the hell up and realize their vote counts for more than just a personal badge of honor.

they have some bizarre sense that the right will be stronger under obama. it makes so sense to me, and i think they are incredibly misguided, but they do have some rationale for this irrational behavior.

I hope so, too, but too many of those people do not think ahead like that. They are focused on their own agenda and to hell with everyone else-and the rest of us are supposed to agree to shoot ourselves in the foot, too to prove our worthiness. If we don’t, then we are spawn of the devil, closet liberals and worse.

Also, since most of us are struggling and don’t have the money to send large donations to unviable candidates, never mind surviving 4 more years of the disaster that rendered us broke, I can only conclude that those asking for such things are totally secure financially, and will remain so no matter who wins the election.
