In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Susurrus, also Susurration
Noun
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

After the near gale force blowing the past few days, the susurrus coming from the trees this morning is delightfully peaceful...”Oh, what a beautiful, susurration morning!
well, duh. ;^)
LOL
A+++ What a beautiful day! I already was out for a walk, just lovely out.
Susurrus
When pulled over by the police and asked to recite all 29 or 30 letters of the alphabet do not just keep saying the same 3 letters over and over like this......susurrus....cause it sounds like, “Sue, sue, (har, har) us!” and kindly Mr. Policeman may think you’re calling hogs (not good) or you’re one of those shiny pants lawyers (very, very not good) and he sets his tazer on the “screwdriver in the back of the t.v.” setting.
Maybe best we forget this “sewerus”.

with Newt with one foot out the door, what will happen to FR w/o a candidate to elevate? Will it be Virgil Goode, obscure former VA state senator, current presidential candidate of the Constitution Party?
They caught Malcom’s brother, the one who shot his partner and stole $2.4 million from an armored car.
The idiot was flopping in some house in Florida in a drug neighborhood. Flapped his gums to much and someone looked up the Pgh police and turned him in.
He obviously wasn’t very bright. I’d have been in Mexico having senioritas feeding me margaritas.
Lovely here, too-puffy clouds, breezy and 68...
It’s serious campaign time now
Obama is out there painting
Rosy pictures for student loans-
Maybe next they will be fainting
On questions of the economy
He doesn’t have a proper word-
The susurrus of gentle breeze
Is all that can be heard
That is because most of us
Who have a working brain
Know there is no more money-
Thinking otherwise is insane
Some will go Goode, some will go blank and some will write in Palin and feel good about themselves.
my eyes roll.
“what will happen to FR w/o a candidate to elevate?”
I was wondering about that myself. Apparently, the tantrums began yesterday, from what I saw-really nasty and even irrational confrontations between Freepers-it made me sad to see that, so I stayed away from it. I like it here at WFTD because people are sane and polite. I came to FR in the first place because the discussions were civil, even between those who disagreed on the fine points...
LMAO A+++
hey, they sent me over to the polling site with a couple of pairs of boots for a guy to try on, so I figured...why not vote in the primary that I didn’t even know was going on...so I voted for Newt to thank him for all the good theater at the debates. and the dem friend working the polls found the right size boots to order. couldn’t yet fill in the little oval for Mitt. I would have for Ann, but it’s his name on the ballet. then I got a head injury call and was off and running....as I crawled home around midnight I found a drunk sprawled on the sidewalk...I called 911 for her...
A+++ Megyn Kelly just had a blip on that O was on the committee considering student loans in the U.S. Sen and he never even voted on student loan issues...he was too busy campaigning back in 2007 and skipped the vote.
so I missed all the recaps last night, noticed Newt was baking out this morning. such an anticlimactic end to it all.....and I couldn’t care less. that’s scares me a bit.
my only hope is that the lunatic fringe is more minimal than it appears on FR.
Did someone come and get the inebriated person? My nurse neighbor works at the hospital in the nearest sizeable “town”, and she told me that suicide attempts by unemployed, depressed people are way up. She is blaming the economy, and I think it is so. I worked as a casemanager during the Carter debacle, and there was a real “despair index” out there...
Well, consider how many on here were saying either “vote for Rick” or “vote for Newt” just to show those GOP-e folks who’s boss.
Those guys were lucky to get 10% each in PA. And you’ve got to figure a lot of those were protest votes that will go to Romney in November.
i don’t know what i am going to do when hockey is over. I haven’t watched fox in forever, and you know i don’t watch any of the other channels. i will watch a hockey game REPLAYED rather than watch any sort of news, and this is a first for my life.
