Wasn’t there a gent from TX who was once part of the TX Railroad Commission? He thinking of the Senate then decided against it.

Michael Williams. He’s now running for Congress from TX-25. Frankly, he ought to be the Governor of Texas.

Yes. His name is Michael Williams, and he’s running for Congress instead, in the newly redrawn TX-25 (which will definitely elect a Republican). He’s the potential black Congressman from Texas that DJ mentioned. Michael Williams first has to win a tough primary, though, with former TX Secretary of State Roger Williams (no relation) being his main competitor. Michael Williams is the real deal, and I hope he wins his primary and joins the U.S. House of Representatives, where he’ll be a superstar; he can then run for the Senate in a few years (maybe in 2015 after incoming Senator Ted Cruz is named to the U.S. Supreme Court).
