RIP, although it seems silly to be saying this about a Vampire.
RIP Jonathan Frid
Bump to #62
It’s kinda weird but I’ve never seen a Johnny Depp movie that I liked.
Or a Tim Burton one.
I was a big fan — saw Frid in person 3 times, including when a fellow fan invited me onto the set of DS. I was thinking of it last week when I found Christmas cards and letters Frid sent me back in those days. It seems like yesterday that my mother took me to see Frid in Wait Until Dark at a Houston dinner theater when DS was still on — my mother was stunned to see Frid carrying what’s now known as a man-bag!
‘he was just stopping in for a bite...’
Hope you had your turtleneck on!
Well, hard to argue with her..but still it was definitely an undeniable temptation...as innocent as it was compared to what was to come later. It was a consummate soap, it just drew you in.
Yes, she was right, no doubt. Nowadays teachers would probably not only encourage kids to watch, but to look into occult rituals in the real world, to foster religious tolerance. Sheesh.
it is the formula.
take old serious tv trama and turn it into comedy.
they are doing the same with the six million dollar man.

I was about 8, and wouldn’t even attempt it.
Somehow a handful of Dark Shadows cards found their way into my baseball card collection. I wish I had them now!
FYI, the series was cancelled because it wasn’t selling soap. Its demo was teenagers.

Now THAT is funny. Sounds like your Mom had a great sense of humor.
I know others here are griping about it, but the new movie looked good to me. We usually watch Jonnie Depp stuff, even when it is absolute garbage like the Rum Diaries. Talk about a movie that didn’t need to be made.
Depp makes some misses but his outrageous characters are usually worth the price of admission. I’ll be seeing Dark Shadows and I’m looking forward to it.
She was a peach! She drank hard, prayed hard and died young.
I guess God wanted to laugh as hard as we did, so He called her home.
“Shadows of the Night”... (Quenten’s Song). Had it.
