Maybe I look at it from a different prospective since I have had several close friends killed in motorcycle races. I enjoy the races because of the rider skill and see no need to have extra risks. There have been many new ideas to increase rider safety in the AMA in the last few years, most notably Airfence, and the Daytona Sportbike class is the most exciting racing anywhere.
I have lost friends on motorcycles on the highway, but I wouldn’t ask them to stop riding , nor would they ask me to stop.
I understand your concerns, they are legitimate, but it is hardly feasible to place Airfence on a course as long as Isle of Mann. Many types of motorcycle racing have been banned over the years in America, Sidecars,Board tracks, all because of dangers, it’s a dangerous sport, for every motorcyclist killed there are 20 injured, some seriously.
I don’t believe I have ever seen a Dirt flat track racer without zippers in their knees and shoulders.I watched a kid go out one night and break his ankle, taped it up and went out and broke the other.
I realize your perspective and I would never place myself in that position eityher, but for those who want it,I wouldn’t ban it. Any more than I would ban horse racing or jumping.
Different strokes for different folks.
