Odd that on YouTube it doesn’t seem quite as terrifying as i remembered it.
I googled 70’s movie + sarcophagus + divers + son of satan.
That was what showed up. The miracle of the interwebs.
Pretty much always the case, isn't it? We see some movie at 4, 5, or 6 years old and it scares the bejeezus out of us.
You watch it years later as an adult and literally LOL at the creative if awkward uses for foam rubber, blood that looks like Heinz tomato sauce, plastic severed limbs (probably lifted from mannequins), and the worst imaginable examples of "acting", directing, and cinematography.
IOW.....they sucked.
They never do. When I was a kid I saw the 1953 movie "Invaders From Mars" on TV, and was terrified by it. Had recurring dreams. When VCR's came out, I got it on VHS, watched it, and couldn't understand why it had bothered me so much.
