Your dil was being rather foolish, since a policy obtained without full and honest disclosure can be voided by the insurer indefinitely. A prepaid funeral, on the other hand, is “there” when you need it, as long as you’ve chosen a stable business to deal with and kept the receipt!
Pre-paid plans are popular here, but I think it makes more sense (for me) to donate my shell to science.
There is no way I would have lied to the insurance company. (Another reason I put it off...) They are supposed to call sometime this week, and I will tell them then that I have changed my mind and don’t want to be insured.
DIL can’t do a thing about it but fume, I’m sure. Man. I hate deception.
