It sounds like Father Gary’s perspective is a little like a stained-glass window. The light comes in, but the colors often obscure and/or distort what one really sees.
Still, I like the colors the world has with that light! The Cathedral in Salt Lake used to give me such a warm feeling with all the light. Overcast days had nothing on the sunny ones.

On the one hand, he misses the daily mob of people in one’s house driving one up the wall. On the other hand, he has to be polite to gripy people in the church.
We have big skylights at St. Luke’s, but the only stained glass is in the day chapel, and the windows have shrubbery outside.
