PITTSBURGH The chief executive officer of Highmark Inc. is facing charges of simple assault and defiant trespass.
Kenneth Melani was charged Wednesday in connection with an incident on Sunday. The charges were filed by police in Oakmont.
Investigators said Melani went to the home of a woman he was having an affair with, walked in uninvited, started calling her names and got into a fight with her husband.
Police said the fight happened on Canterbury Court in Oakmont on Sunday night.
According to the criminal complaint, Melissa Myler was hired by Melani in October 2011. The complaint stated that about three weeks after she was hired, Melani and Myler began an affair.
Police said Myler then lived with Melani at the Docks in Fox Chapel for about two months. Soon after, Myler told police that Melani hired a private investigator.
The complaint said that when Myler told her husband about the private investigator, Melani showed up at their home uninvited.
The police documents stated that Melani accused Myler of cheating on him and said, "It's all about the money."

Read it through several times and still don’t understand what happened. Except its generally bad for business for the CEO to show up in the news like this.
Yeah, I’m a little confused about her going to live with the CEO, and his hiring of the PI. Did he suspect she was cheating on him with . . . her husband?
I think this is just more proof that if we didn't ...never mind
What a guy won’t do for a little bit of wet hair. What a woman won’t do for money. Sigh.
"I hired...a...PI....to investigate.....your ...cheat....cheatin.....cheating wife....now...I have ....to....save face....lit...lit.....literally."
I say Not Guilty, at least as of 2006.
Undeniable proof that what my Grandpa told me when I was just a youngin' is true:

I found a bit more detail on a related story. It explains the deal with the husband more clearly:

Yup. Looks to me like a deal between husband and wife to extort some moolah from the rich Dr but he figured out their scheme.
According to another story he told police he would have killed the woman and her husband if they hadnt come.
good career move
Just another case of thinking with the wrong head.
I agree. She’s not guilty. However, you gotta wonder about the smarts of a guy who is the CEO of a huge company pulling down major mulah and wants to throw it all away to get his wicket wet. I mean, can’t he just go to some high priced hooker and get some with a hottie there? In the end, it’s a lot cheaper financially and otherwise...
She’ll get a nice payout from Highmark, and so will the CEO via a golden parachute. Hard to see the downside, really.
It doesn’t feel too good to get used. All the more reason to stay away from married women whether or not they state they are divorcing or not. US women are famous for this kind of trouble.
You said it all.
And some women will lie about their marital status, as I found out the hard way.
Whew, I thought it was just me.....LOL!
Wet hair??
lol
That’s one I hadn’t heard...and I’ve heard a lot!
And some women will tell a lot of lies to a rich man.
Men pretty much lie to get some nookie.
Oh, I get it now. The husband was essentially pimping her out and the ho was going to blackmail this guy. Is that the gist of it?
