You cannot compare Reagan to today's GOP, since the demographics of the country are over 30 years past. And you are wrong about the Romney supporters opposing Reagan. Most of Romney's supporters were rabid Reagan campaign supporters. I can claim that from actual experience, since I was a Reagan campaign volunteer myself, and spent a good part of my young adult life during that era.

The demographics don’t matter for the primary. You insulted me first, secondly you brought up Regan, not me. Romney isn’t the conservative in the race, so why would Reagan supporter be supporting him? Romney supporters would be George H.W. Bush supporters, and Ford supporteres.
