Ah yes 1957. But I lived in Kansas and the guys with duck tails also wore black leather jackets or a white tee shirt with a pack of cigarettes rolled up in one sleeve. I preferred the guys with the white bucks, button down shirts and burr cuts - probably because my parents said I did. Always wondered what it would be like to date one of the other types but....

You are right, I had forgotten the rolled up pack of cigarettes in the white T shirts sleeve, leather was a hit and miss in my part of the country....Life was much easier, you could go for years and never hear about the federal government until election for presidents..ah, the good old days were really the good old days compared to today...we prefered different kinds of guy, but we both made it to over 70 and still breathing....LOL

Yup....that was me. I don’t know if I still have the leather jacket. Marlboro’s in the sleeve. I was in a car club called the Sultans. One of the largest in Los Angeles. I think we averaged about 50 members with some of the best hot rods in the city. We would cruise Hollywood Blvd on Friday and Saturday nights. I had a pair of white bucks but only because my girl friend bought them for me. Only wore them once. The other guys gave me a bad time.
