My Vision Of Newt Gingrich
Cindy Kay

Posted on 03/23/2012 10:39:21 AM PDT by Cindy of Nashville

I picture Newt Gingrich as an old seasoned sea captain, with the captain's hat and the pipe standing at the helm of the USS America, calmly, with ruthless brilliance righting our ship that has lost it's course. He's the only one who knows where the the reefs and sandbars are and can prevent a ship wreck. If people don't start letting him have the wheel, we're going to all need life jackets.

No problem Cindy, I appreciate your reply. It’s just that sarcasm sometimes loses its punch when it’s labeled as such (kind of like saying “here comes a joke, get ready to laugh”). I understand you taking things seriously, though...we’re in a serious situation.

I don’t know if he will pick this battle, but he could.
Don’t forget the situations last year with “flash mobs” beating seniors at a mall (I want to say in Colorado) & there were incidents in Pennsylvania & other places. I don’t recall if anyone was murdered, but numerous people were injured & robbed. It got so bad in California (I want to say the BART trains in San Fran), they actually shut down cell phones to try & stop them.
Interestingly, in hindsight, OWS seemed to overtake (drown out) the reporting on that & it “just went away”. (I kinda doubt that)

I’m sure you’re aware that we are all ultimately responsible for protecting ourselves & our families. Know your candidate’s record on gun control & our 2nd Amendment rights.

Wow, he likes two things in a thousand plus page document and you give the impression he’s all for it.

I bet even you would find something of worth in the document.

By the way Newt still wants to REPEAL the whole thing in case you still have blinders on.

The claim is correct MOST of the baggage is false and he’s not ‘very flawed’.

Nice try though. It’s clear your getting your info from the MSM or Mitten’s camp cause if you’d looked anything up you’d see the truth.

He’s not “very flawed”? Come on. Take your head out of the sand.

His personal life is a certifiable clusterf*ck. He’s on his third marriage. He cheated with a subordinate while in office, then left his second wife for his mistress. There is still no good answer to the Clinton-era question ... “if his own wife(s) can’t trust him, why should I?”

He had ethics problems in the House — though the details are vague. He did a global warming propaganda campaign with Nancy Pelosi, of all people. He’s made some really weird statements about “right-wing social engineering”, the end of the Reagan era, etc., etc. That’s just the stuff I can think of off the top of my head.

Those are facts. They’re bad facts. They suck. They create vulnerabilities for Gingrich and his supporters ... and those vulnerabilities are entirely the fault of Newt Gingrich. Ignoring them doesn’t help ... opponents and voters won’t ignore them.

The reality of Newt Gingrich is what it is — he is very flawed, has a lot of baggage, but he’s a hell of a debater, and may be the best option available. I’d vote for him without hesitation in the GE, and maybe even the primary ... but he’ll never be the easiest sell.

We can’t pretend Newt Gingrich’s past didn’t happen. It did. We have to acknowledge it, and perhaps help voters come to tersm with it.

Wow, talk about head in the sand. You spout nothing but the MSM version of each of the items. I know you have your mind made up by the MSM so I’ll say you need to look into each item yourself sometime.

Although I don’t condone his marital indiscretions he had his reasons, which are his not ours. You probably wont care what they are but at least you’ll have the real reasons and that they weren’t just to find the next pretty thing cause he was tired of the last one.

Unlike your MSM stance on the ethics charges the details are NOT vague but clearly documented and everyone of the charges was considered BASELESS. Look it up if you dare.

His ‘right-wing social engineering’ comment had nothing to do with Reagan (wow are you uninformed) but about Paul Ryan’s voucher system (for medicare) introduced just a few years ago. They weren’t ‘weird’ as you call it but hey, it’s what I’d expect from a brain full of mush. And for the record those two do get along just fine despite what the MSM tells you.

The only thing you got right was about Nancy and the couch and he’s already admitted he shouldn’t have.

Maybe next time before you spout the ‘bad facts’ off the top of your head as you call them (cause they are bad facts) maybe you should not let emotion get the best of you and do some research.

Although we shouldn’t act as if his past didn’t exist at least we should get it right when we talk about it.

Nice reply Joe, you da man.

Unfortunately, those you half-a$$ listen to Fox News, a little Huff and Drudge are going to be just as misinformed as SnakeDoctor, Steelfish, dforest and others.

The worst part is that the majority of those who call themselves conservative and republican will think and vote for the “American Idol” candidate just like we were forced to do in 2008...and I dread that the outcome will be the same.

I can see it now ...Obama wins on November 3rd with every diabolical plan going forward ... and unless there is a Republican house and Senate to curb him, we are in store for unseen horrors in this country.

And yet, at the same time, it will be SO great that we conservatives will watch these election returns and just be SO proud and SO relieved that we avoided Newt — the ONE guy who could have beat this jerk, and all his “baggage.”

The Establishment has this thing down to a science. They do it EVERY time — run their pitiful candidates. . ..and we fall for it. This year was different ...We had Newt, and we as a nation could have made a difference in how these elections turn out. But we worried about .....baggage.

15- year old baggage.
