There is nothing like fresh, tender lettuce. We've grown Black Simpson and blends of various looseleaf types. My husband particularly loves mesclun, but imho, all are delicious! :)
Except iceberg.

Black Simpson was one of the lettuces mentioned in the article on heirloom lettuce ... might give that one a try this year (will do mesclun again, too!).
