In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “Word for the Day”.

Solipsism

Noun

    1. The theory that the self is the only thing that can be known and verified.
    2. The theory or view that the self is the only reality.

[Latin slus, alone; see s(w)e- in Indo-European roots + Latin ipse, self + -ism.]

solipsist n.
solipsistic adj.


Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

I just went out for a walk around the yard. We have bright sunshine and a mild temperature today. Long sleeves, but still.....it’s like a breath of summer out there.

At least in the 60’s, most of us were cynical enough not to believe our own bulls***-these newbies are too self absorbed to do any abstract thinking, so they are just useful idiots for the liberals.

I think they only asked for $100thou each. The $4mill blew my mind. How can anyone PROVE that the delay cost lives, no one can KNOW that to the tune of $4mill. gees.

Beats me-I suppiose it was done as a teacheable mon=ment, but I can’t imagine what there is to be learned from totally random violence-except that it is totally random...

Agreed-but as long as those “gun free” policies are in place, that random violence will continue.
