If someone is “wired” in a way which predispositions them to harmful conduct, should that conduct be accepted and endorsed?

He’s attacked because he doesn’t want his kids taught that sodomy is “normal” behavior. Or have them indoctrinated in the world of gender confusion. All conservatives with a voice and a platform need to Breitbart them all and give a big middle finger to the media.

No. It’s disease.

Homosexual behavior could be considered an option, but homosexuality, i.e. homosexual orientation, is not an option. These people are wired a certain way, and they can only be rewired with extreme difficulty if at all.

The vast majority of homosexuals (both male and female) report early sexual molestation, usually by a same sex relative or family friend.

Let's execute pedophiles and the issue will likely vanish.

I've heard it claimed that alcoholics are "wired that way." Let's celebrate sloppy drunkenness! If you don't, you're a "hater!"

I have alcoholism in my family: grandfather, two uncles, two first cousins--that I know of. But I do not have that tendency. In fact I've never been addicted to anything--coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, drugs... I have the opposite of an addictive personality. I don't think I could be addicted to anything (but I'm not going to tempt fate). I'm just not wired that way. I think the family members who are/were alcoholic are/were wired that way. I think it's hereditary. It also skips generations.

I think the sociopathic personality might also be hereditary and variously expressed. I have two close relatives who had that disorder, and there was absolutely NOTHING in the environment of either to predispose them to this.

Good for you. Does this have any relevance with your fascination concerning perverted sex?

I have no interest in perverted sex (or perverted anything else). It is boring and gruesome.

In fact, I'm not interested in any kind of dysfunction or perversion. That includes alcoholism and the sociopathic personality. Some people consider drunks funny; I don't. Some consider sociopaths charming and fun; they're not; they are shallow, manipulative, boring, and predictable.

What excites me is intelligence, wholesomeness, joy, kindness, love, happiness, enlightenment, truth.

Perversion does not.

BTW--you certainly have a passionate interest in homosexuality.

Bad experience?

Not a "passionate interest." Just a morbid curiosity. It's sort of like slowing down for a train wreck. That's why I engaged you in conversation. At least I don't have to pay the two bits for a gander at the freak, this time.

Where’s the controversy? He means that perpetuation of the species naturally requires a male and a female. Even the staunchest GLAAD nut can not deny that.

Sorry, but you picked the wrong guy. Not interested. No morbid curiosity. No interest in freaks. Shove off.

Whoa there lil fella. You're the one who posted homonormative psychobabble about gays queers/perverts being "born that way."

It seems that you share Lady Gaga's delusions of being "born that way." In fact, I bet you'd fit right in with her(?) bizarre assortment of fans.

In complete contrast, I'm the one who said homosexuality is a mental illness, often caused by early sexual abuse. Funny, you didn't have any response to that! The truth is, you weren't born that way; someone hurt you.

Now go run along and attempt play your lame little Alinsky games elsewhere.

Furthermore to say that all behavior is voluntary and subject to control is absurd. Witness Tourette's syndrome. Obsessive-compulsive disorders. Et al.

I would agree with you that some disorders are involuntary and that some may be predisposed to disordered behavior.

However, I would suggest such discussion as to 'why' to be academic e.g. murder is wrong and just because people do it does not make it 'normal', nor does that fact that people are doing it make it useless to call it abnormal.

As such, any discussion relating to 'why' is pointless UNLESS one is simply academically curious OR one is attempting to promote the normalcy and acceptance of the abnormal.

I think the either/or at the end there is a bit of a false choice.

To understand the “why” of any human behavior teaches you more about all humans even if they do not share in that behavior. It can be more than mere academic interest without being normalizing or - as another suggested - merely gawking at a freak show. These seem to be lesser options.

Has she even worked since that show went off the air? I never liked her or her character when it was new.
