Word For The Day, Tuesday, March 6, 2012
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
taradiddle [tar-uh-did-l]
-n, informal
1. a small lie; fib.
2. pretentious nonsense.
[17901800; origin uncertain]
Does your neighbor know the potential customer whose bid I 86’d after I ran a check on her?
Probably. Small world. Six degrees of separation and all.
I’d forgotten about the six degrees-but if the neighbor’s family is from Florida-so is the customer-there may be something to that...
My day is trashed by that con of a customer wasting my time. I’m going to the woods where I can howl and swear and kick rocks down the trail-back later...
I do day care for kids now and then. My dentist has 3yo twins, a boy and a girl. She asked if I would be interested in giving her mom a break a couple of days a week. Sounds good to me. I miss having some kiddies in my daily life.
