It was Dorothy Kilgallen.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Dorothy Kilgallen and Orson Bean used to be on the “What’s My Line?” TV game show together:

Hmmm. Thank you for that bit about Orson Bean. How odd. I remember when she died. I remember that she was supposed to have uncovered some new information but never heard more about it. I liked her and that show, watched it every week. I don't think it was age, but she had chipmunk-like cheeks.

What's odd is that I don't remember Orson Bean's being on that show but it ran a long time.

But the juxtaposition of those two in this discussion kind of gives me a creepy feeling.

It's not like the first thing I think is he was murdered because I took the news at face value. Then you start to wonder. If he did have dinner at Ayers' and then interview Arpaio (and the latter probably trusted him with a confidence), it's all circumstantial but just weird.

And if he was a regular at that bar, his enemies surely knew it and from there, almost anything is possible.
