I thought the same thing, but the headline is misleading.
It seems that he realized that it was gasoline the moment
it was in his mouth. He spit it out, but it landed on his clothes which were ignited by the cigaret.
The whole story is BS. There is no way he would not have rinsed his mouth after drinking gasoline.
