Yeah, I dig the whole “nation of laws, not of men” thing and I’m as much for law and order as the next guy. But I also think we’ve let the threshold down a bit too far for things like simple assault. I’m just not sure that delivering a quick smackdown to some smarmy little jackass that really deserves it... is something which the law ought to concern itself. A little instant justice now and then, and we’d have a lot more polite little jackasses.
How about if his dad and his football player brothers applied a smackdown to the geezers? Law enforcement need to worry about that?
