Right. Aside from the praise of Jones’s drumming, it’s been said that it would have been better for Tork to have been the lead guitar, with Nesmith on bass, and I believe they’ve done that on some songs during their various reunion gigs.
I remember I was a member of the Monkee’s Fan club. I sent for a official member post card signed by the Monkees. It took months but it finally arrived. I saw “Head” at Atlantic City Steel Pier in 1968. Also that day was Pat Paulson live and the diving horse at the end of the Pier.
