To this degree I fell sorry for her: There was no reason for them to ask her this, or for her to be expected to answer this. Reporters like to ask professional athletes questions like this, but it really isn’t fair or useful. Of course, her answer was terrible, but it’s hard to tell whether she really meant it that way, or whether she was caught like a dear in the headlights. She could have ruined her career with the wrong answer.
“Rain caused the Daytona 500 to be postponed yesterday. Denying Danica Patrick the opportunity to crash a third car in as many days.”
I don’t see anything wrong with her answer, it is a non-answer. She is a driver, not a politician, or political figure, so what is she supposed to say? If she says she hates the decision, then she is going to lose supporters, and be blasted, and vice-versa.
