I believe in the power of the Gospel unto salvation, if one confesses the Lordship of Christ, confesses sin, and believes Salvation is by Christ and Christ alone, then they become Christian in spite of their other quirky beliefs.
The movement of the leadership of the Church, has been more to John 3:16 than away from it.
I believe in the Power of John 3:16 to save, no matter what cult you may find yourself in. In the Judeo Christian Code, Romney is bound by the 4th commandment: “Honor thy father and thy mother” For him not to honor their faith would be difficult.
How do you know if you are saved? It is by the fruit you shall know. As a demonination, there are more Mormons leading more upstanding lives than most other Christian demoninations that I know.

I don't recall ever seeing Billy Graham during one of his crusades placing any conditions on his alter calls aside from having heard the Gospel message, the person accepts Christ as Lord and Saviour. Therefore, as far as Billy Graham is concerned, the person has been saved. That they may go on to live an imperfect Christian life is a separate matter but who has lived a perfect Christian life or found a perfect Christian denomination?
If upon hearing the Gospel Message from a Mormon missionary a person accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior, the person is a Christian. Mormon doctrine is a separate matter.
