I’ve not been a huge fan of Santorum, but have been impressed with his last couple of debate performances, and am really pleased with his comments tonight. I like how he’s really taking it to Obama, and calling Romney “Obama-lite” and “dead wrong”. If he can coalesce the conservative and Tea Party vote, and present a viable (i.e. less baggage than Newt) option that Independents and fed-up Democrats can support, I can sure go with Santorum.
Agree. CO is a distinct possibility.
Santorum wins Adams County outside Denver by 10 points. Romney won Adams by 53 points in 2008. I would say that doesn’t bode well for Romney tonite
So long as Gingrich has a near unbridgeable gap of over 20-points with women, he’s near un-electable and indeed Obama thrashes Gingrich in Gallup-USA by over 12 points. Gingrich needs to drop out or else Romney will have a decisive triumph on Super Tuesday based on a divided conservative vote.

Hey Bruford, long time no see! Come on now! Hop on the Santorum express!
Update: It’s now 42% - 30% in favor of Santorum.
Here’s a link for anyone who wants to check on the results as they come in:

pleasantly surprised. I just can’t decide. I like Rick the most though
B-b-ut, what about Mitt?
Hasn’t the Democrat “mainstream” media told us relentlessly for about a year that Mittens is the “frontrunner” even after he lost Iowa and South Carolina?
Good link!
I just looked and Rick is way ahead in Colorado.
That’s a Rush “endorsement.”
Thanks for the quote.
But Denver and Colorado Springs etc with huge population densities haven’t come in. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
58% in —Mitt 38% Rick 36%

I’m with ya on all three statements. Newt’s still the man in my book - he’s conservative, has the charisma, incredible intelligence and verbal gifts, amazing knowledge of history, understanding of our founders and their documents, and a passionate belief in them and our Republic. Another valuable (and necessary) attribute he has that the others lack is the chutzpah to look BHO in the eye and tell him, in front of a hostile media and millions of people, that he’s full of bull****.
The others can talk big in front of their supporters and fellow Republicans - Newt’s proven many times that he’s not only unafraid, but he’s extremely skilled, to call out the enemy directly.
Are you having trouble picking up my sarcasm? I preferred Santorum from the start. Never liked Newt.
Already there. Let's go!
Since Cain and Bachmann dropped I have been in the anybody but Romney camp. I met Santorum during his first run for Senate and always liked him as our Senator when I lived in PA. There is no fraud in him - he is the real deal.
The Spector endorsement was disappointing but understandable. That was about maintaining control over the Senate rather then agreement on policy (Bush endorsed as well). I was a huge Toomey fan, but no way he would have won in PA in 2004. One needs only to look at 2006 to understand the trends (one of the reasons we fled the Northeast for GA).
Santorum is a blue collar / big government guy. His roots are in Western PA where manufacturing is a big part of the economy. He has his flaws, but maybe he is the most Conservative candidate who can win?
I would have preferred Herman Cain. He had a lousy campaign staff, but the man would have been a great leader. Gingrich is the ideas man, and a true Conservative as well. The problem with Gingrich, fair or not, is that his negatives are through the roof.
Maybe it is time for compromise. Santorum may be the best candidate who can knock off Romney and beat Obama. He is not my first, second or even third choice, but he is a good choice. Thoughts?
