There are several reasons why an individual could claim exemption, being a member of a religion that does not believe in insurance is one of them. Islam is one of those religions. Muslims believe that health insurance is haraam, or forbidden; because they liken the ambiguity and probability of insurance to gambling. This belief excludes them from any of the requirements, mandates, or penalties set forth in the bill. Other excluded groups include Amish, American Indians, and Christian Scientists.

What is amazing is not that 0bomba is siding with Muzzlems, he said he'd do that in his book, and proved it numerous times in the last three miserable years. What is amazing is that practically no public figures of any sort are calling it what it is. Are we now officially a nation of gutless cowards without any principles? Where are leaders? Where are the Rs? What to speak of "haha" conservative talk show people? Are any of them pointing out that Muzzlems are now the favored group and everyone else - especially those with God-based moral principles, Catholics right now - can go to hell? Are we silently going to just keep walking towards the stun gun and then slaughter? What will it take to rile enough people up? To get these supposed political leaders, judges or anyone else - hello?!?!?!? - to fight back? Is every single agency, bureau, deparatment, position, and level of government totally compromised? I want to know.
Well this aught to give ammunition for Catholics and other religious people (such as my self) that don’t believe in contraceptives (be fruitful and multiply and the fact that much of it is abortive) when it comes to challenging this under the law. The free exercise of religion and equal treatment under the law. Not that many courts care anymore about justice and law.
I sure hope that Catholics that were leaning towards Obama have changed their minds.
What about older Muslims who are on social security, aren’t they automatically covered by medicare at some point?
I wonder if their houses and mosques are uninsured? In my state car insurance is mandatory.
So no muslims in America have insurance?
No muslim businesses or chariteis carry insurance?
How do they buy homes?? I had to have insurance or the bank would not loan the money.. I think this is bogus...
TO all the Catholic, Jewish, Evangelical and other religious people, take note of this come Nov. 2012...
Pinging you to see this story.........
No Muslim organization in the US has ever received IRS exemption from SS.
This will continue until Americans get the guts to stand up and stop it.
Otherwise, we can all accept being second class citizens in our own country.
The law specifically states that those who are exempt from SS withholding under IRS rules xyz are exempt from the individual mandate.
The Amish are exempt under that clause.
There is no Muslim sect or organization currently exempt.
Those are facts, not alarmist conjecture.
Pious Muslim doctors won’t do abortions.
When a friend of mine was in a residency, she reported that when the hospital tried to force their muslim residents to do abortions, they refused. When the hospital said they would fire all residents who refused to do it, all the Muslim residence said if they tried, all of them would quit. Since a lot of the residents were Muslim, the hospital backed down.
Thirty years ago, another hospital tried to get me dismissed from medical school for refusing to “help with surgery” (e.g. late term abortions).
I was known as a Catholic and threatened to sue so they backed down...it helped that one of the deans was a Catholic and supported me...but most of my Catholic medical students just went along with the crowd.
Get over the equal under the law crap. Does everyone pay the same income tax rate? Sheeh.
But murdering innocent people isn’t “haraam”.
To hell with Islam.
I took notice a long time ago.
No, but at least in your example people that earn money pay taxes, or the burden of proof is on them to have to show they don’t have to because they didn’t earn enough. That isn’t he same as being automatically exempt from something because of your religious demographic. Can you not agree they aren’t the same thing?
Since when are you for forcing all religions except a few to have to do something that these groups say violates their faith, but only some religions get consideration of their views to be exempt? Christians are saying this violates their beliefs about life and the government ignores them, but muslims and others who say their religion rejects insurance - this the government respects and exempts them from the law? You’re okay with government playing favorites?
