Santorum, to this very day could not win a statewide race in PA... not only would not win, but would LOSE BY A HUGE MARGIN!

I suppose Gingrich or Romney would win Pa. by a landslide.

Wow, apples and oranges look the same do you don’t they?

Santorum is not a national politician, he’s a state politician, whos state THREW HIM THE HELL OUT, and would heartily do so again today. To try to take 2 politicians from different areas and throw them in PA as a comparison is silliness.

You’ll come to see what the folks in PA saw in Santorum soon enough, all he is doing is playing spoiler to ensure the Romney nod. Should by some miracle he wind up a the top of the ticket, you’ll see the milk toast that Santorum is. He’s got a spine on social conservative issues, I’ll give him that, but he doesn’t have remotely the ability to handle the campaign that is coming on countless levels.

PA is where this guy is FROM, they are the folks that know him best, and they threw him out, and would happily do so again, by a huge margin. To think this guy can carry a national campaign that is going to be as ugly as this election is going to be shows utter naivete.

The fix is clearly in on this guy, the press hasn’t bothered to challenge him hard on anything, they know they have to keep him propped up to ensure Romney gets the nod, and are doing so happily.

I’ll vote for whoever the nominee is, but those that think Santorum is their white knigh, will soon find out he’s milk toast.

Polls are unreliable, except when they show Gingrich in the lead of course, but here's one of the later polls I could find, from December when Newt was first riding high:

Swing State Poll December 8, 2011:

Pennsylvania: Obama 46 - Romney 43; Obama 48 - Gingrich 40
Interestingly, it appears nobody has polled Pennsylvania since mid-December, so the polls aren't that useful -- this was when Gingrich was at his zenith, and before Santorum "surged" as it were to take Iowa:

Gingrich Early Front Runner (December 13, 2011):

In a hypothetical match-up with Republican voters, Gingrich leads the race with 35 percent, followed by Romney with 18 percent. Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum was the favorite among 18 percent of voters, while eight percent said they planned to vote for former Texas congressman Ron Paul.
I would be interested to see what those polls would look like today.
