Wow! That's quite the hyperbolic statement. Unfortunately, it is total BS. You need only go back to 2010:

New York:
Charles E. Schumer- D
3,047,775
66.31%

Jay Townsend-R
1,480,337
32.21%

Difference= 1,567,438, more than double your "record".
