occupied the place when Dad was home from Washington on business

No they didn't, the house was completely VACANT no furniture, no nothing.. they never occupied the home EVER, stop with the nonsense. In fact the home did get rented out to tenants at one point, the Santorums never occupied the house, temporarily or otherwise, but claimed it as their residence..

I pay property taxes on rental properties I own, but I don't claim my residence in them when I live somewhere else.. you are spreading a complete lie on this one... better get your facts straight.

And you know this how?

Because you kept watch on the house 24/7? Or because the Democrat party hack on the school board said so?

I have no idea when the Santorums moved out of the Penn Hills house. But the point of the matter is that the lived in the 18th district (Penn Hills) while he was our congressman for four years.

Lots of congress critters do not even own property in their district once they make a career of it in Washington. Richard Gephart was famous for using his elderly mother's home in Missouri for residence purposes while he was in Washington. Of course, nobody said a thing about it because he was a Democrat.

Santorum was doing what was legally required to at least maintain a home and pay taxes in the school district. I did the same thing when I was living in Japan and was renting out my home. The local school district was providing my kids with books and educational materials with full knowledge of my situation-- because I disclosed it.

Nobody made an issue of it because I wasn't occupying a U.S. Senate seat which the Democrats wanted.

So whether Santorum's family occupied it, rented it, had furniture or whatever is really not relavant. He owned it and he paid taxes to the school district. As a taxpayer in the district, he had the same right to use the school district resources which I, or any other taxpayer in the district, would have been given.

Even if the kids were registered in the Cyber School, Santorums property taxes plus the state per pupil aid still would have resulted in a net financial gain for the district. There is no crime and no victim here, unless it is the Santorum kids.

Santorum withdrew his kids from the cyber school not because he did anything wrong but because he did not want to make an issue of it.

Do the math: Cost of paying out of district tuition for using a Cyber School versus the cost of owning, maintaining and paying taxes on a modest home in the district which produced little to no rental income. You are creating a non-existent scandal just like the biddy on the school board who was so worked up about this that she didn't know (or didn't care) that her son was a key crook in a house burglarly ring,
