I have a good handle on my ancestors. I think they came in to the southern port (Agusta or Charleston?). It was some place near S.C. and they settled there at a place called Prosperity, which is still there. I have the male line and some of the wives lines. My grandfather's family ended up in Lincoln Co. TN. When I was a small child I attended a Cumberland Presbyterian Church with my grandparents. Name of the settlement and the church? Prosperity. I'm hoping to be able to make a trip to S.C. this summer and see the grave sites of the S.C. family.
On my mother's side were the Womacks, who also came to TN from S.C. not far from the Stewart side. They had to have known each other, but the Womacks settled in Warren Co. TN. My parents met when Dad came from Lincoln Co. to Warren Co. to teach school and stayed at my grandfather's home. I think I am beginning to have enough history now (still going back in Scotland till we find our connection to Mary Queen of Scots or King James.) to write a family history. It's very satisfying to know who your ancestors were.
A fellow by the name of Womack owns the property next door to where my condo was before Hurricane Ike hit the Houston Clear Lake area.
There was a young lady from Down
Who sported her miraculous mound
But having a gorse bush
Covering her sweet tush
Removed from her several pound.
Your degrees are impressive. Nice to see someone continue education after they retire. I went back to college at a late age. I think that may still be on my profile. I love history, but most of my study was religious history. Funny how many wars have been fought over religion isn't it?

Thanks for the clues.
