"If we bought books instead of checking them out of the library, we'd have to camp out in the yard because the house would be packed with books."
Books
Books in boxes. Books in racks.
Books in hallways. Books in stacks.
Books on shelves and closets tall.
Books on every patch of wall.
Books where sunlight makes them fade.
Books around that Ive mislaid.
Books my wife has gathered in.
Books beginning now to win.
Taking over in my life,
Books now keep me from my wife.
In the doorway of the den,
Stacks of books have grown again.
I go around the other way,
Easing back to hit the hay.
Unless subtly they have crept,
Into the space where once I slept.
Striving now to find a nook,
Not encumbered by a book,
I subside into my chair,
To find a book is waiting there.
Some few minutes reading now,
Will help me with my sleep somehow.
And when I nod and stiffly wake,
Ive lost my place, for Heavens Sake!

(If "everybody's different" then two of them have to be the same. It's the only way to be different.)

This poem could describe Sionnsar to a T. I have a huge library of technical texts and science fiction - none of which I read. (I take that back, I have read a few of his books, but there are literally hundreds more I haven’t) I have to move and it’s painful to contemplate.
