I often find the cats sleeping on Ash’s bed and even in her cage, if I come into the room unexpectedly. Jake’s current favorite spot is on the changing table.

I started learning Spanish when I was a child in California and Texas, and then studied it in junior high, high school, and college. Since college was in San Antonio, TX, I was pretty fluent by the time I graduated, although I’ve lost some vocabulary (especially verb tenses!) since then.

Our congregation has quite a few Puerto Ricans. Since many of them have been in the U.S. for a long time, their Spanish is more like what I learned in school than what’s spoken by the Central Americans. Of my regular choir members, two are Puerto Rican and two Mexican.

Ack! As I recall, they have fourteen tenses! I’m a wimp! Glad you understand!
P.S. I’ve found Puerto Ricans and Cubans to be very courtly people. They taught me a thing or many.
