Wonder Woman and Scrooge McDuck were my childhood role models.

Time to turn in. Pekingese won “Best in Show” in dog show. Sigh.

Goodnight and sweet dreams, y’all!

"I will have you know that my brother was always helpful. Maybe a bit too much."

"Like incident with the saw and the wobbly kitchen table. After he helped it didn't wobble any more. None of the chairs fit under the table either but that is another matter."

I actually did that once. Not with a table, but with a chair.

All of its glue joints were nice and tight, so the easiest way to get all the feet into the same geometric plane was to trim the longest leg.

With the chair upside-down, I placed a pane of glass on three of the legs of the chair, so that I could determine precisely where to mark the longer leg for cutting.

It worked.

I saw a guy on one of the craftsman shows use a bit of twine and a string level. But I had the glass and it was quicker.

It was an elegant* solution.

*there is no higher compliment to an engineer than to say his solution is elegant

I will bask in the praise, and decline to remember where I stole it.

Tom lost 6 lbs., I lost 2, Kathleen gained 0.8.

Jake mind-controlled me into letting him out this morning. I let him roll on the cement for a while before I brought him in.

All it took for Tom was reasonable amounts of reasonable foods. I’m tranferring weight directly to Kathleen ;-).

I love success—yay!
(My coworkers used to ask me if I was a cheerleader. Answer was yes. It’s hard to lose some behaviors, especially the ones founded in excessive happiness.)

I learned a long time ago that when life gave me lemons, I could make a lemon meringue pie, and that’s what I do.

Occasionally, my depression and anxiety show through here on the UT, but there are so many wonderful FRiends here that I find I don’t have time to allow the Grimm brothers, Gloom and Doom to stay long.

(My mouse is giving me fits...time to get another, but like everything else, it will have to wait a few weeks for the Moneh Bunneh to visit my warren. Meanwhile, it is FRUSTRATING!) LOL!
