No, unless it was a direct threat. Any time I go into the woods for any reason I am armed. I have found prints in the past and heard things I can't explain while camping miles from any where.

With out a body or some type of absolutely valid DNA. Science will never believe it. I imagine one will walk out in front of a logging truck, then we will have our evidence.

If a beast that big undergoes any kind of accident, or just has a sudden heart attack, you'd see at the least a skeleton in the wild. Birds, beasties, bugs will eat the flesh, but the bones persist until buried and demineralized (and even that leaves a fossil). Supposed Sasquatch territory should be searched for such skeletons.
