As has become tradition, the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins were given a private tour of the White House and honored in a ceremony hosted by president Barack Obama on Monday, but one face was missing...and it was a rather notable face.
Vezina and Conn Smythe winner Tim Thomas chose to skip out on the festivities, citing "personal reasons" that likely have to do with his political affiliations. Thomas is a strong conservative and Republican. He is also one of only three American-born players on the Bruins Stanley Cup roster.

Go Timmy! He is also one of the greatest goalies ever and a true American!

Pujols and LaRussa did not show up either when the Cards went to see Odumbo. The only idiot owner who was more than happy to meet Klownie the Kenyan was Mark Cuban, the lib owner of the Mavs.
Tim can have a better time visiting the Smithsonian..

Don't give a rat's *ss about hockey or the Bruins, but had to check out the comments at the link. Predictably; the moonbat leftists that inhabit New England are dissing the goalie for 'disrespecting' the office. I guaran-damn-tee you if it were Bush in the White House; the same people would be praising Thomas' name to the heavens.
Hypocrite scum.

As a Canuck fan, I’m required to hate the Bruins.
But I like Tim Thomas. It must be very difficult to take a stand on principle, knowing he’s going to be standing by himself.

Thomas statement on White House absence
Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas released the following statement Monday evening regarding his absence from the Bruins' visit to the White House this afternoon:
"I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People.
This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.
Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.
