And here is another observation about the media and their lackluster coverage of this issue... §338-18 (g) (5) An individual employed, endorsed, or sponsored by a governmental, private, social, or educational agency or organization who seeks to confirm information about a vital event relating to any such record in preparation of reports or publications by the agency or organization for research or educational purposes.

According to this sub-section of the law media organizations should have full access to the records as they are critical for both research and educational purposes.
And if the media isn't an "organization" then just what is considered an "organization" according to Hawaii law?
