It is disturbing to have read so many replies here that say they will vote for Romney “if he is the nominee”.
I say to them - you are indeed supporting Romney. You are supporting him NOW. Don’t give me that spineless scaredy-cat “but anything is better than Obama” baloney either. Grow a set already!
What you “Any Republican but Obama” people are doing is giving the GOP elites notice that you are “useful idiots” and that there are no consequences to the Republican party’s foolish insistence that it it is “Romney’s turn”.
It is time to educate those Republican party leaders that they do not own the Conservative vote the way the Democrat party owns the black vote. It is time to put the Republican party on notice that we are NOT on their plantation!
I have said it before, and GOP listen up because I am not by any means alone on this: I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR MITT ROMNEY FOR ANY OFFICE ON ANY TICKET UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. GOT IT?

Will the fact that there are conservatives who now say that they will vote for Romney if he is the nominee actually help Romney get the nomination by convincing some people to vote for him in the caucuses/primaries who otherwise wouldn’t have? I suppose that is possibe, but I don’t think it is probable. I suppose it could be the case that those who are opposed to Romney but who say they would vote for him if necessary could be unwittingly providing Romney with the necessary “public perception momentum” he needs. But I doubt it.
Nevertheless, I agree with you as long as you change your mind if Romney gets the nomination.
