Hi, tioga, and thx for the thread! The word hotspur also puts me in mind of two warships, one historical and one fictional, the former a WW II era British naval vessel, and the latter a vessel of the same name in David Weber's Honorverse. I think there was also a ship of the same name in the Hornblower books. FWIW :-)

It never ceases to amaze me the direction a word will take. Such a silly word, yet it invokes so much history. I learned a lot about that today. Thanks for sharing.
