I breastfed all my children and never once needed to sit in a public place where any one person might have been uncomfortable. Besides, I thought more of my child's quiet and comfort than to sit somewhere where noise and passersby might make my baby less relaxed. My children deserved peace and quiet and a time with me alone when I could sing and rock them as they nursed. I did not have to rush them in order to finish shopping, or because strangers might look our way. They did not need to be used as my statement on breastfeeding in order to advance my personal opinion or desires. One who truly cares about the child's comfort more than just flaunting one's opinion in the face of others plans ahead and finds a quiet, private place, or brings a bottle for those times when they are in public.
Liberals always need to show how they are much more enlightened than the masses.
I think it’s a shame that women are made to feel that they should breastfeed in private in a dingy old dressing room. Breastfeeding is NOT sexual, so it shouldn’t have to be done in some closed box room in the back of the store. Sheesh.
