My opinion is that anyone who publicly expresses disgust is hoping for a glimpse.
My wife breastfeeds often in public places and she is discreet about it. She tries to find a more private area but often times a place out of the way with blankets to cover up is about as private as it gets.
I am amazed at the people who proclaim family values and keeping families together and Moms at home, yet they act disgusted when a baby is eating. I am going to start to express disgust every time I see someone stuff 1500 calories in their face at a restaurant. Maybe I should demand that those people be fed a juiced version of a salad served at room temperature.
In Portland, Maine only a couple years ago these women did a topless protest. They announced it for days ahead of time to promote the upcoming topless protest and then the day came and they all walked down the main street of the city topless.
On the six o clock news one of the topless protesters complained in an interview that she was "dissappointed" that so many people just came to watch and see the girls topless and even more dissapointed that they were taking picutures.
There's video of this interview online. Proves your point.
A glimpse? No. I prefer to not have to explain to my 2 year old why a bunch of common decency lacking narcissistic attention whores feel compelled to expose their mammary glands en masse in public order to satisfy their warped sense of self entitlement. I prefer to simply finish my shopping and leave the store without incident, letting my 2 year old keep her innocence for a bit longer.
LOL, not hoping for a glimpse, seen enough already. Breastfed my own 3 kids.
Actually, I clicked on the thread ready to defend the protestors, but when I saw the woman sitting in the middle of the sidewalk nursing her baby I agreed with the op- it was all about exhibitionism to her.
I bf all of my kids in public, but no one probably even knew because I didn’t sit in the middle of the sidewalk and do it. Also did my share of breastfeeding in public restrooms, until I realized that I wouldn’t eat in there- so why was I feeding my baby in there?? To protect someone’s sensibilities?? Breastfeeding is totally natural and what God made breasts for. Breastfeeding in public shouldn’t be a problem and shame on Target for making it an issue. But what this woman is doing in the picture at Target is a joke.
