My guess is she probably didn't appreciate the attention, facial expressions, or raised eyebrows in response to her actions. Notice though, it isn't about what she did to receive those reactions, but rather how they made HER feel.
It reminds me of when I was in a pizza place and the owner kicked two young twenty somethings out for necking at a table while waiting for their food. There's a time and place for everything, and some folks have no concept of common courtesy.

I encountered one of these militant breastfeeding mama's once years ago.
She was a very overweight leftover hippie type who was walking through the store shirt WIDE open (which was wide considering her size) and both enormous boobs hanging out for the whole world to see.
It was NOT a pretty sight.
FWIW, I am a huge fan of nursing babies, I did so myself, but never used it as an excuse to make an exhibitionist of myself.
