Brees couldn’t help who was in the WH at that time.

ANd they had a great stat for those that said, “the game was different then”. Brees exceeded the League yards per game passing by MORE than Marino exceeded his back in the day. He almost doubled the amount by which Marino exceeded his. I love me some Dan, but this is not an asterisk record.

With the exception of the two interceptions, it was a great game. Just glad to see the Defense step it up a notch.

How many games were in the NFL season when Marino played? If it was not 16, then Breess record does not mean that much for nowin 84 there were 15 regular season games. This is the 15th game of this season. Brees does deserve cudos for a wonderful season. He is a humble guy.

    Brees disagrees:
"He's actually a very good athlete. Caught every ball thrown his way. He covered Troy a little bit as well. There was a sequence where I'm throwing a route to Troy and President Obama is covering him. He did a pretty good job; actually knocked the ball away one time.

You guys have had a great year.

Yup, totally unexpected too. Sean Payton showed how quickly good coaching can turn a losing team around, but no one here expected Harbaugh to come up with a 12+ win season.

Just hoping you guys lose to the Rams so Saints get the second seed.

The 49ers can really use that bye week to try to get Ted Ginn, Delanie Walker and Kyle Williams healthy. As thin as the 49ers receiving corps already was, it got thinner in a tough win over the Seahawks.

Anyway, congrats to Brees and Saints fans on breaking Marino's record - Brees is a class act all the way.

And thanks for Darren Sproles too.

They had 16 games in '84, same as now. The 49ers went 15-1 (the loss was by a FG to the Steelers as time expired), and steamrolled Marino and the Fins in the SB.
