Last year, 592 bears were killed -- what hunter call "harvested."

That's the verb used exclusively by my county newspaper in Pennsylvania. It's as though they cannot bring themselves to use the verb for what has transpired. The hunters kill their prey, for goodness sakes. One harvests grain. Yes, I know the dictionary does give "harvest" a bye on this.

I would not be offended to read "kill."

I like bear meat. It is great but needs to be cooked well done like pork. Old, and I do mean OLD BB needs to check out her own diet and her closet and see how much meat and leather she has purchased lately.

Since you're not aware, that is the new PC term for hunting, supported by Ted Nugent and the rest of the hunting community. It is now being used exclusively to counter the claims by the libs that hunting animals in indiscriminate "KILLING"..........
