Sorry, no video in link. The Right Scoop on Twitter had a link to video, but its not working. Soon, I am sure, it will be available.
Thank you for the link. I read the whole thing. I know sometimes (most times) it is different reading it vs watching it, but Glenn never laid a hand on Newt. While it technically not a “gotcha” interview, Glenn did try to make Newt look bad. How did Glenn do at that? EPIC FAIL. Newt can explain anything. He has actually thought it through. The rest of us haven’t.
Now that I’m older and take several medications on a regular basis, I know that when I turn 65 and my insurance runs out, I would have to stop taking several of them. I just couldn’t afford it. Prescription drugs are the most critical part of health care today. Times change.
On global warming, Newt is still of the mind that CO2 might be a contributor. His approach, since he thinks the jury is out on it, to promote nuclear for example and other good ideas, to get off foreign oil, reduce emissions at the same time as a consequence. It’s a win, win. NOTHING wrong with that approach.
On several other topics he was of the opinion that small change over time is better than radical change. Easier to get through Congress and easier for the people to accept. He may very well be right about that.
Seat belts come to mind. They didn’t DEMAND that everyone wear seat belts. First they gradually required auto makers to offer, then require front seat belts, then require front & back seat belts while not requiring you to actually use them. Finally after years, they did, but not really enforce it. Most people today wear their seat belts, voluntarily to be safe. Many lost lives and injuries have been prevented by the seat belt laws. Should we repeal them? NO. Was phasing them in a good idea? YES.
If you just listen to what Newt is saying, he is either right or not wrong. Most people don’t listen, but more & more are and that is why Newt is rising in the polls. It’s not that they don’t know about Newt, it’s that they like what they hear.
